The Veg-mobile

My VGN stickers arrived from PETA! You can get them here, and they're on sale for 50 cents. They're perfect for Sigg bottles, laptops, cars, fridges—whatever. And if you know me, and you're veg, you'll most likely be getting a gift from me very soon (hint, hint).

Plus, oooooooohhh yeah, scope out the newly VGN-ised veg-mobile:

  1. I recently stumbled upon your blog and I think it is fantastic! I was browsing the archive and came across your adventure with the little green bird. This totally resonated with me (I once spent an entire day trying to save a baby squirrel, finally finding a sanctuary to care for it. At the time, I was a meat eater.) It blows me away that we aren't able to connect these things in our mind. I think part of it is simply lack of information (I honestly did not know the extent of the animal abuse), but the other part is exactly as you said: denial.

I enjoy your blog and your thougts. Would you mind if I linked to you from my blog? Maybe you will also want to link to mine?! Either way, I appreciate your opinion and that you're sharing it!

  2. Love it! Glad to know more vegans in LA!

  3. Thanks Powered by Produce! I'm still amazed I was in denial so long. I would love to be linked, and I'll return the favor. Thanks again!

  4. It is odd the inability to connect these things. When in the process of becoming vegetarian, I was blown away by a coworker who said she would have no problem still eating pork if she had one of those cute little mini pigs for a pet. I just didn't get it.

I could kind of understand people distinguishing their pets from their meat because we don't eat cats or dogs etc (the cultural reasons for this elevation of certain animals is probably another discussion entirely). But to have a pet pig who you love and see no problem in still eating pigs? That didn't make sense to me...
